Service Dogs

Our Service Dog Training Program

We understand the profound impact a highly trained service dog can have on the life of an individual with disabilities. That's why we're dedicated to providing exceptional service dogs, raised and trained with the utmost care, to offer support, independence, and companionship.

Our Approach to Training

Our comprehensive program begins with puppies from excellent breeders, carefully selected for their temperament and potential. These future service dogs are then raised and meticulously trained by us for approximately two years. This extensive training period ensures each dog develops the specialized skills and calm demeanor necessary to excel in their vital roles. When their training is complete, we hand-deliver your fully trained service dog, ready to integrate seamlessly into your life.

Who We Serve

We provide highly skilled service dogs to individuals facing a range of challenges, including:

  • Autism and Down Syndrome: Help with calming high anxiety, self harming stems, elopement, and security.
  • Epilepsy: Providing alerts before seizures and assistance during and after episodes.
  • PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression (Other Psychiatric Disabilities): Offering deep pressure therapy, interruption of harmful behaviors, and a calming presence.
  • Mobility and Stability Impairments: Assisting with balance, retrieving items, opening doors, and providing physical support.
  • Hearing Loss or Deafness: Alerting individuals to important sounds like alarms, doorbells, or their name.
  • Allergies: Detecting specific allergens in the environment to help prevent reactions.
  • Diabetes: Alerting individuals to dangerous changes in blood sugar levels.

Investment in Independence

A fully trained service dog represents a significant investment, typically ranging from $30,000 to $50,000. We understand this can be a substantial financial commitment, and we're here to help. We offer support with fundraising or customizable payment plans to make acquiring a service dog more accessible.

Lifetime Support and Advocacy

Our commitment to you and your service dog extends far beyond delivery. We provide lifetime assistance and advocacyto ensure a successful partnership. This includes ongoing support for you, as well as education for your family, friends, and businesses you frequent to foster understanding and acceptance of your service dog.

Therapy Dogs

Our Therapy Dog Program

Therapy dogs offer a unique and profound form of comfort, support, and motivation to individuals in a variety of settings. Unlike service dogs who are trained to perform specific tasks for an individual with a disability, therapy dogs provide emotional and physical benefits through their calming presence and affectionate interactions.

The Role of a Therapy Dog

Our therapy dogs are meticulously trained to be gentle, well-behaved, and responsive, making them ideal companions for those who can benefit from animal-assisted interactions. They bring smiles, reduce stress, and encourage communication, all while offering a non-judgmental presence.

Where Our Therapy Dogs Make a Difference

Our therapy dogs and their handlers are ready to bring comfort and joy to a wide range of facilities, including:

  • Hospitals and Medical Centers: Providing comfort and distraction to patients undergoing treatment, in recovery, or experiencing long stays. They can help reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, and lift spirits.
  • Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities: Combatting loneliness and isolation for elderly residents, providing opportunities for social interaction, gentle exercise (like petting or grooming), and reminiscing about past pets.
  • Rehabilitation Centers (Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy): Motivating patients during therapy sessions, helping with fine motor skills through petting, encouraging movement, and fostering a positive environment for recovery.
  • Schools and Universities: Reducing stress for students, especially during exams or challenging periods. They can also aid in literacy programs (children reading aloud to dogs), promote social-emotional learning, and provide a calming presence for students with special needs.
  • Mental Health Facilities and Counseling Centers: Offering a sense of calm and safety, helping individuals open up and feel more at ease during therapy sessions, and reducing anxiety and depression.
  • Courthouses and Victim Advocacy Centers: Providing comfort and a sense of security to vulnerable individuals, such as children or victims of crime, navigating difficult legal processes.
  • Libraries: Participating in "Read to a Dog" programs, where children can practice reading aloud in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment, boosting confidence and literacy skills.
  • Disaster Relief and Crisis Zones: Offering emotional support and comfort to individuals and communities affected by traumatic events.
  • Colleges and Universities: Providing stress relief during exam periods or high-pressure times, creating a sense of community and well-being for students.
  • Chiropractic Care Offices: Helping to ease patient anxiety before or during adjustments, creating a more relaxed environment for treatment, and providing a comforting presence.

The Benefits of Animal-Assisted Interactions

The presence of a therapy dog can lead to numerous positive outcomes, including:

  • Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Interaction with animals has been shown to lower cortisol levels and promote relaxation.
  • Improved Mood and Emotional Well-being: Therapy dogs bring joy and can help alleviate feelings of loneliness and depression.
  • Increased Social Interaction and Communication: Dogs can act as an icebreaker, encouraging conversation and engagement.
  • Motivation for Physical Activity: Gentle interaction can encourage movement and participation in rehabilitation exercises.
  • Comfort and Companionship: Providing a non-judgmental and affectionate presence for those in need.

Our therapy dogs are a testament to the powerful bond between humans and canines, bringing comfort, joy, and healing wherever they go.

Our Personal Protection Dog Program offers an unparalleled level of security, providing you with a loyal companion expertly trained to deter threats and defend you and your loved ones if the situation demands it.

More Than Just a Guard Dog

A personal protection dog from our program is not merely a "guard dog" that barks at the mailman. These are highly intelligent, meticulously trained canines that integrate seamlessly into your family, displaying impeccable obedience and a stable temperament in everyday life. Their protective instincts are honed and refined through extensive training, ensuring they act only when necessary and always under your command.

The Foundation of Trust and Control

Our program emphasizes controlled aggression and impeccable obedience. Every personal protection dog begins with an intensive foundation in advanced obedience, ensuring they are responsive to your commands in any situation. This is crucial for safety and for building a strong, trusting relationship between you and your dog. They learn to:

  • Distinguish between normal and threatening situations: Your dog will be social, calm, and well-behaved in public, ignoring non-threats and focusing on genuine danger.
  • Respond to specific verbal commands and gestures: They are trained to engage and disengage on your cue, ensuring their actions are always precise and controlled.
  • Maintain composure under pressure: Through environmental desensitization, they are prepared to remain focused and effective in various environments, even under stressful conditions.
  • Defend effectively and release on command: This ensures they can neutralize a threat and then de-escalate the situation safely when instructed.

What Our Personal Protection Dogs Offer:

  • 24/7 Personal Security: Your dog is a constant, vigilant presence, ready to act if you or your family are threatened, whether at home, during walks, or while traveling.
  • Deterrence: The mere presence of a well-trained protection dog can be a significant deterrent to potential intruders or attackers, often preventing a situation from escalating.
  • Increased Confidence and Peace of Mind: Knowing you have a dedicated protector by your side can greatly reduce anxiety and increase your sense of security in various environments.
  • Family Integration: Our dogs are raised and trained to be loving, social companions within your household. They are excellent with family members and invited guests, becoming a cherished part of your daily life.
  • Situational Awareness: Your dog is trained to be acutely aware of their surroundings, alerting you to potential dangers before they become a direct threat.

Our Training Process

Developing a personal protection dog is a specialized, multi-stage process that typically takes approximately two years. We select puppies from exceptional working lines, focusing on traits like strong nerves, confidence, intelligence, and a balanced temperament. Their training includes:

  1. Solid Obedience Foundation: Mastering basic and advanced obedience commands off-leash in various environments.
  2. Developing Drives and Controlled Aggression: Channeling natural prey and defense drives into controlled, effective protection behaviors.
  3. Threat Recognition and Scenario Training: Exposing dogs to controlled threat scenarios using professional decoys to teach them appropriate responses.
  4. Handler Integration Training: When your dog is ready, we provide comprehensive training for you and your family, ensuring you understand how to handle and work with your protection dog effectively.

We hand-deliver our fully trained personal protection dogs, ensuring a smooth transition into their new home. Our commitment extends to lifetime assistance and advocacy, providing ongoing support as you and your dog build a secure and inseparable bond
