#OurBeginning

~ Our head trainer, Macey Fruge, has always been passionate about many things. One of these passions that outshined others was that of working with dogs. Big or little, slick or fuzzy, common or rare; she loved them all. She’s worked with many different types over the years of her child and adulthood. 

  One dog in particular paved the way for Macey’s bright career in dog training. This dog was Britt, who is now our main logo. Macey and Britt’s bond and extreme skill of training together lead them to being noticed by multiple organizations in the canine world. 

   Through this acknowledgment, Macey realized she had a gift for working with dogs and people alike. From there, her passion grew. 

  Macey’s early experiences with training dogs revolved around service dogs for veterans and children, therapy dogs, and ranging from typical obedience pet dogs to more complicated behavioral issues, as well as a slight interest in bird dogs. Each of these very individual disciplines in dog training has given Macey a vast knowledge of different techniques for separate scenarios. 

 During the pandemic of 2020, Macey took a risk of opening her services to the public. With extreme caution and procedures to provide safety for her services, she opened BossDog Training. For a year, Macey provided successful outcomes for pet dog parents, but she decided she needed to help more than just pet owners. 

   In summer of 2021, Macey decided to enroll in one of the nations leading dog trainer schools, Highland K9’s School For Dog Trainers. For 6 months she perfected her original skills and gained many more. She is now knowledgeable in the science behind animal learning and behavior, many different techniques in obedience and behavior modification, successful service dogs and their laws, detection and apprehension dogs (personal protection and police k9s), trailing and tracking dogs, and search and rescue dogs. Finally it was time to take her profession back home in Louisiana. 

#Growth & #Goals

  In the early months of 2022, after Macey’s graduation, she reopened her business under a new, better fitting name, BossDog K9 Dog Training. From here, she hopes to grow her clientele and BossDog’s reputation as one of Louisiana’s leading dog training businesses.

 We are currently expanding our Board & Training program to include 10 dogs in a state of the art housing kennel. Another goal that is a work in progress is adding puppies to our detection dog program to contract out working and highly successful, motivated detection dogs for bed bugs, termites, mold, and bomb detection. 

  BossDog K9 Dog Training is looking forward to announcing new and upcoming growth and development.
